There are many options available at Contemporary Plastic Surgery for women and men seeking non-surgical rejuvenation, including an array of safe and effective dermal fillers. The solutions we offer are designed to quickly and conveniently treat many different signs of aging for a smoother, more radiant, and more youthful appearance.
Each patient that visits Contemporary Plastic Surgery receives personalized and attentive care and extensive contact time with Dr. Herbstman and his Nurse Practitioner. In addition to consultation and diagnosis, Dr. Herbstman and his experienced Nurse Practitioner perform the injections with the dermal fillers, bringing a higher degree of success to their treatment.
Common Treatment Areas for Dermal Fillers
The cosmetic products that our practice offers can address a variety of aesthetic concerns, including:
- Nasolabial folds. These lines, which run from the sides of your nose to the corners of the mouth, can deepen over time.
- Marionette lines, which run from the corners of the mouth toward the chin.
- Loss of fullness and definition in the lips. While most of our patients aren’t interested in having extreme projecting lips, restoring fullness and a youthful shape can subtly rejuvenate a person’s appearance.
- Vertical lines above and below the lips. These vertical lines can become more defined as you age, even if you avoid behaviors like smoking that can exacerbate their appearance.
- Aging in the mid-face. Volume loss around your cheeks can cause your features to migrate lower on your face and lead to sagging skin and jowls.
Dermal fillers may be able to improve each of these issues to give you a naturally rejuvenated appearance with no downtime.
Your Options With Dermal Fillers
Contemporary Plastic Surgery’s treatments include:
- The JUVÉDERM® Family of Products
- TheRestylane® Family of Products
- Sculptra®
- RADIESSE®
Dr. Herbstman can combine treatment with dermal fillers and injections of BOTOX® Cosmetic, which our offices also offer to address wrinkles around the eyes, forehead and brow as well as frown lines (“Angry Eleven’s”).
JUVÉDERM® Family of Products
JUVÉDERM is group of injectable dermal fillers made up of hyaluronic acid gel, which is a biodegradable substance naturally present in the human body. As a result, even patients who may have been allergic to older dermal fillers derived from animal products (like Collagen) are good candidates for treatment. Each of the JUVÉDERM XC products is specially formulated with lidocaine to increase patient comfort during and following treatment. Depending on how many areas you are having treated, Juvederm injections typically take between 15 to 45 minutes to complete. Our patients describe the experience as nearly pain-free. You can return to your daily routine immediately after your visit to the practice.
JUVÉDERM®Ultra Plus XC
JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC is formulated to smooth out wrinkles and folds, particularly around the nose and mouth. As with other dermal fillers, it temporarily adds volume to facial tissue to give the face a younger appearance. Results usually last about 12 to 18 months.
JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC
As you age, you may notice that your cheeks have lost their youthful fullness and that the skin in the middle of your face has begun to sag. Dr. Herbstman uses VOLUMA to restore structure to the cheek and to return healthy appearing fullness in a way that reduces sagging. The benefits of VOLUMA can last up to two years.
JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC
Patients with moderate to severe facial lines – particularly, well-defined nasal labial folds and smile lines — may benefit from VOLLURE. This product softens lines and wrinkles to create a smoother appearance. Results are natural-looking and attractive and have a duration of up to 18 months.
JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC
Vertical lines above and below the lips and loss of volume in the lips are two subtle but significant signs of aging. Dr. Herbstman recommends VOLBELLA lip filler to create a smooth, glossy look without an overly large or unnatural outcome. The product lasts up to one year.
Restylane® Family of Products
Restylane use a hyaluronic gel similar in composition to Juvederm products. When Dr. Herbstman injects the gel into your lines and wrinkles, the product should immediately fill in these signs of aging, giving you smoother skin for up to 12 to 18 months. Your body will absorb and process the Restylane over time. During this process, the hyaluronic acid in the gel should moisturize your skin for even longer-lasting benefits.
Restylane®
The name-brand version of Restylane adds volume and fullness to improve the appearance of severe facial wrinkles and folds. It is also one of several dermal fillers that our practice can use for deep circles under the eyes as well as lip enhancement.
Restylane® Silk
If the development of fine lines around your lips has aged your appearance – or, if your lips have lost definition over time – you may benefit from treatment with Restylane® Silk. The product’s unique specific design allows for treatment of finer lines with results that are soft and natural-feeling.
Sculptra
Sculptra is an excellent, long-lasting filler used primarily for restoring volume where facial fat has been lost. The active ingredient in Sculptra is polylactic acid. As the product is absorbed, this ingredient stimulates new collagen fibers, which aids in creating firmness and elasticity. With two to three treatment sessions aesthetic improvements from Sculptra will last as long as two years for our patients.
RADIESSE
RADIESSE contains tiny microspheres of calcium hydroxyapatite. This substance occurs naturally in the human body, making RADIESSE safe for use with almost any patient. As these microspheres are absorbed, they stimulate collagen development for up to two years. In addition to filling wrinkles, RADIESSE is also popular for treating oral and maxillofacial defects such as nasal deformities earning the name “liquid rhinoplasty”.
