Contemporary Plastic Surgery Wins Team Honors at Race for The Cure®

In a recent Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, the personnel of Contemporary Plastic Surgery in New Jersey took home the prize for the largest hospital or doctor team. For the occasion, the practice attracted over 100 eager participants.

On the morning of September 30, 2012, nearly 100 team members gathered to support the fight against breast cancer, filling the Contemporary Plastic Surgery tent in the staging area of this year’s Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®. Due to the enormous participation, the New Jersey plastic surgery practice led by Dr. Robert Herbstman won the prize for having the largest hospital or doctor team at the event.

The practice’s leader, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Herbstman, says, “We were delighted to win the prize.” “And we thoroughly enjoyed the event and had a fantastic day. Above all, though, our group earns over $10,000 a year for the Susan G. Komen organization.

Dr. Herbstman said his office would take donations for the Race for the Cure through November 15, even though October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“Anyone who wants to contribute can contact our office in Red Bank,” he states. “This is my 14th year dedicated to this worthy cause, and we’re eager to do everything we can to help.”

Since many of his patients are cancer survivors seeking breast reconstruction or breast augmentation in New Jersey, Dr. Herbstman and his team are aware of the significance of the Race for the Cure and the battle against breast cancer.

About 20,000 people participated in the 19th annual Susan G. Koman Central and South Jersey Race for the Cure run and walk, including Team Contemporary, composed of the cosmetic surgery practice’s employees, patients, and friends from New Jersey. Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey, hosted the event on September 30.
